It’s where I explore the seasons, and keep my tastebuds tantalized with cooking fresh from the farmstand. I split my time between a Michigan farmhouse and a Chicago loft — to me it’s the best way to enjoy fresh-picked foods and discover how great chefs bring it to hungry patrons.

And here is where I wrote my book Farmers’ Markets of the Heartland, my love letter to the growers, food artisans and market organizers who make the Midwest a delicious place to live.
