I’ve missed you so

Oh, how I’ve missed being here. My valiant excuse is that I have been immersed in book edits for the last several weeks to the exclusion of everything else.  No gardening, no cooking, no leisurely restaurant meals.  No posting at RusticKitchen.com.  And no reading!

That’s right, not only have I not written, I haven’t been reading either.  I got misty today as I opened my Google Reader and said hello to dear friends.  Hello, Chiot’s Run, A Country Farmhouse and Meadowbrook Farm.  You make me want to go outside and shovel my compost pile!  Hello, Cottage Nest, you have such a lovely life in the Village.

Dorie, Joy, Heidi, Elise and Cheryl, you make me want to go straight to the kitchen.  Maybe to cook from your gorgeous book, Domenica!  Rustic Italian will be right at home on my book shelf.  And MarisaPickled seckel pears - yowza!  My seckel tree has a few more years until it bears fruit, and I’m waiting with bated breath.

Congratulations on the marriage, Tim at Lottie + Doof, and Floriole is a lovely place for a wedding reception.  Danielle and Jessi, I’ll call to schedule dinner!  Little Brown Pen, I’m counting the days until my next Paris vacation.

Now that I’ve emerged from being scrunched over my laptop, begging hand massages from my husband, reheating soup, I’m ready to get back in the kitchen.  And the garden.  The photo above is the log cabin at Crane’s Pie Pantry in lovely Fennville, Michigan, where’s I’ll stop for cider-doughnut-sustenance before I address the compost pile.

Are you baking this weekend?  And which are your friendliest blogs?
